He lit her cigarette and said
You wander like a troubadour:
Composing music in your head
Walking to your lonesome score.
I've never loved one such as you -
Though I've been in love before -
A girl who promises adieu,
Without the will to walk away...
You see, I know you - yes, I do.
You want to leave, and yet, you stay.
I see it in your eyes - regret.
Your eyes, like sky, always betray.
Nonplussed, he lit her cigarette.
A girl, so old, at seventeen,
You hide behind a silhouette -
Pretending to enjoy this scene,
Behind your lips like a libertine.
