The World

The light of the world is dimmer now that you've gone,
The bright colours don't dazzle my eyes,
And the stars don't sparkle like they used to.

The world is a little quieter, since you abandoned me here,
Life no longer holds any laughter or smiles,
And I feel the silence swallowing me inch by inch.

The world is emptier without your soul filling it,
There is a gap, an abyss I feel myself falling into,
Your place in my heart will remain forever barren.

The world is meaningless to me now,
I cry for you every night and wish for you every day,
But wishes are never granted, and tears cannot bring back the dead.
