There is no fog
No haze
No grey skies
Or rumbling clouds
Between us.
No cool breeze
Tumbling seas
Gail force winds
Thick forests spindly green.
I can see
From here
The buttons on your shirt
The coffee stains on your lips
And the notes of some song
Printed on your fingers.
I can also smell myself on your skin.
If I reached out to touch you with my hands All arms and desire and longing I would not hold you the way I do now All smells and deep breaths Taste and shivers.
