Contortions of me

Ask me, and I may not answer, for now is not the time.

Tell me, and I will see your lips move, but your whispers will pass through me and disappear like a kiss goodbye.

See me, and you will see what I show,
not the shadows I keep silenced like the night.

Have me, and one moment I will hold on and suspend the simplicity of us together, the next, although not a movement I make, I will slip back to the places that keep me safe, keep me sad.

Take me, please take me away from myself, carry my heaviness like it weren't, like you couldn't see these contortions, like you still wanted me, despite me?

Because I'm me.
