High Diver

'Jump! you said

As you walked me up the 10 metre.
'Jump' you said
'I'm with you all the way!'

But there's no water at the bottom darling.

'It'll be ok'
I hear you say.

With my left eye I see you smiling down at me from up above.

'Does it feel good my love?'

You taught me the word 'inveigle' at 3 in the morning Me With my degree.
But I was too drowsy to heed the warning and too bespelled to see.
Ha!
Me with my stupid degree.

'Get up, do it again!'
'Come play!' I hear you say.
'Ready for round 4?'
'But you said you wanted more!'

I keep calling to you to help me
Then push you away.

You broke my life.
Secretly?

I'm glad I
Jumped
When the angels put me back together and the Holy Spirit whispers I will again.
