here i am with heavy suitcases
and a script of us in my pocket
seeking dialogue not distance
my recital perfectly rehearsed
anticipating your noble entrance
i have a ticket i'm willing to tear
if you'd only knock with knowing
revelations would make me stay
changing costumes in frustration
your neglect painfully transparent
swallowing tears over sound effects
as i'm desperately clinging to props
black markings through your lines
silent doors close velvet curtains
leaving me with the longest longing
and an ending never written
